ONE POWERFUL STRING TRIMMER!!My husband has gone through several string trimmers in his time. We have had gas, electric and everything in between. This GreenWorks 2101602 40V 12″ Cordless String Trimmer, Including 2Ah Battery and Charger is, by far, the best one he has owned. It is lightweight and well balanced, meaning less wear and tear on his back. The 40V Lithium-ion battery is powerful enough to take care of the entire yard between charges. The battery is very easy to use. You just slide it into the groove and it latches into place securely. To remove it, just press the release button and it slides right out. There is an entire array of yard tools that are interchangeable with this battery. You can save money by only buying the extra power tools that you need. The trimmer has variable speeds that can be changed as simply as squeezing the trigger. It has a one-touch button to flip it into an edger. The string is very tough and long lasting. An added bonus is an extra reel of string that comes with your trimmer. It is also very easy to reload with a new string reel. Everything about this trimmer says quality.

Electric Powered for the Win!!!The Electric Powered Greenworks 40 Volt String Trimmer is a wonderful alternative to Gas powered instruments! No need to buy extra gas, spend more money, and no spilling gas or gas smell; just remember to charge the included battery for two hours, and go! The string trimmer has automatic feed, comes with two pre-strung coils and the first coil even comes installed for you. This wonderful addition to effective yard tools is lightweight at only 7.87 pounds, has a safety switch and is plenty powerful to get the job done! The battery is interchangeable as well so you can use it with any of the 25 + tools the company carries to insure your yard will be looking fantastic! Other features are a convenient wrap around handle, a wide 12” inch cutting path, and a flower guard. Note that the guard doesn’t protect as much from the side angle as it does from the front and the guard must be in the down position to be effective. You can use the guard to provide a space of protection to go along fences, along the house, flower beds, drainage pipes etc. The battery easily installs right into the end of the trimmer handle and clicks into place. Before operation you’ll want to be sure to go ahead and release the safety lock in the handle and then go ahead and put it back on after operation. The instructions are very easy to follow and it also comes with a 4 year warranty which is great!

A must have for every yard tool collection!Greenworks 40V String Trimmer with 2 Ah Battery, 1 Hour Charger

This weed eater is very powerful and will easily cut through tall grass, weeds and even small brush. 40 volts is great power for a string trimmer.

The battery for this unit charges in about an hour, and runs strong. It’s easy to think you could plug in the charger, cut your grass, then come back and be ready to go trim. Our yard is about one acre, and the charge can easily last for this size of a yard.

I love that this comes with a larger guard. I will feel better allowing our 13 year old and 14 year old to use this model versus others as I feel they will be slightly more protected than they would be with our previous weed eater.

This trimmer balances well. If you put the battery pack on and adjust the handle you can perfectly balance this to cause less strain on yourself while using.

We love that this came with an extra string cartridge head. That was like getting an extra Christmas gift! There’s nothing worse than getting ¾ the way through your weed eating only to discover you’ve run out of string!

I prefer this over any gas trimmer or electric trimmer. The weight, shape and power this string trimmer offers is one of the best on the market. This is the perfect tool for every home.

An amazing piece of modern machinery! The very first thing I noticed about this beautiful battery operated Greenworks string trimmer, is that it is HUGE! If you are short, older or have back issues, this might not be for you. It is hard to hold and the battery pack adds some weight to the already hefty unit. Having said that, it is an amazing piece of modern machinery. You do have to put this trimmer together once you get it home, but it’s basically a matter of sliding the top of the trimmer into the bottom, attaching the bottom shield with two phillips screws and then attaching the extra hand-hold in the position that is comfortable for you.

You also need to charge the battery before use, but I believe it took about 20 minutes (or so) for the red light to turn green, indicating that it was ready to go. I then removed the battery from the (INCLUDED) battery charger base, slide it into the trimmer and I was ready to go! I tried it on a clump of grass that I wasn’t able to take care of last summer. This Greenworks string trimmer zipped right through that clump with absolutely NO PROBLEM what so ever! AMAZING!

The line is NOT a Bump & Feed. It is an automatic feed that happens every time you let go of the “go” button, that you need to hold continuously as you work. So this is something else to consider; if you have problems with your hands, this button holding might test you somewhat.

The battery charger can sit on a shelf or you can hang it on your garage wall, if you prefer.

The battery lasted me long enough to do my front yard, my middle yard and my back yard without having to recharge. Probably about an hour as I have a smallish yard and there was still a charge left in it when I finished.

I do admit that my arms were tired after holding the trimmer for several minutes, but I love the design, the quiet engine and NO CORDS to trip over OR GASOLINE to have to buy! Be SURE to read ALL the instructions and warnings before getting started, because this isn’t like the corded or gas trimmers. But I do believe that you will love this Greenworks trimmer as much as I do!!

Don’t forget that the BONUS of buying this, is that you can use the same battery in the Greenworks axial blowers, sweepers, chain saws, hedge trimmers, cultivator, pole saw, air compressor and more!

Awesome yard tool. The Greenworks trimmer is very attractive and works great. I was worried that a battery operated trimmer would be low performance and wear out quickly. Not true, I did the whole yard on a full charge and never had any power loss. (It only takes an hour to charge) It’s about the same weight as a gas power trimmer so it wasn’t difficult to handle. I am short and found the shaft is a bit longer than my old trimmer but it was still very easy to handle. The longer shaft meant less debris hitting me which is a nice feature.
My favorite part of this trimmer is the ease of starting and extending the string. On an electric trimmer, you have a cord to wrap and unwrap which is cumbersome. On my gas trimmer, I found it was hard to start in the cold or in the heat. Sometimes I would shut it off to change the string and couldn’t restart. This trimmer has no such issues. A quick push button start and you are on your way. The string will extend my letting go of the throttle for two seconds and then I am off and running again. I couldn’t be happier with the price or overall performance.

Light weight and effective.I needed something small and light to clean up around our RV this spring. This is perfect! It came charged and My husband was weeding in a few minutes. The string pulls out very easily. It didn’t get tangled. The charge that it came with was enough to mow out little yard. The charger is a bit bulky and heavy. It does take more space than I’d like to accommodate. When I was going to charge it after our use, I notice the battery has a battery charge sensor. You press a button and it lets you know how much charge is still on the battery. After we used it for about 20 minutes, I only was missing 1 square out of 4. We still charged it an our, and after a week of it just sitting on the shelf, battery is still full. We haven’t used it much yet, but I’ll be very glad to have it once the grass comes back. The one thing I did not like is that the shield was a bit small and I did get hit a couple of times with rocks while mowing near them. Not too much of a big deal because we mostly have sand in our yard, but might be an issue when mowing near the gravel driveway. I am still very pleased with this trimmer.

Great Replacement for my gas powered trimerI received my GreenWorks 2101602 40V 12″ Cordless String Trimmer, Includes 2Ah Battery and Charger in February, dead of winter not exactly weed wacking. But then a warm up and the trimming I did not get done in the fall I was able to do. The GreenWorks 2101602 40V 12″ Cordless String Trimmer, Includes 2Ah Battery and Charger was easy to assemble, even with the small print directions. I put the battery on the charger and it was charged in less than hour. The GreenWorks 2101602 40V 12″ Cordless String Trimmer, Includes 2Ah Battery and Charger comes with two spools preloaded so you are ready out of the box to use your GreenWorks 2101602 40V 12″ Cordless String Trimmer, Includes 2Ah Battery and Charger. I wanted the GreenWorks 2101602 40V 12″ Cordless String Trimmer, Includes 2Ah Battery and Charger because my gas weed wacker is old and hard to start. My old weed wacker was so hard to use my wife would not use it. Not so with my new GreenWorks 2101602 40V 12″ Cordless String Trimmer, Includes 2Ah Battery and Charger, my wife loved the weight and balance of it. I was concerned as this was a 40v which normally means heavy, but with newer battery technology and the design for balance the GreenWorks 2101602 40V 12″ Cordless String Trimmer, Includes 2Ah Battery and Charger is awesome! At this point I have no negatives for the GreenWorks 2101602 40V 12″ Cordless String Trimmer, Includes 2Ah Battery and Charger other than the small print in the manual. But small print seems to be common with anything you buy these days. I just went to Greenworks and downloaded the PDF manual. The GreenWorks 2101602 40V 12″ Cordless String Trimmer, Includes 2Ah Battery and Charger is only a 2AH and if you need more power time then you can buy the 4ah battery. The other thing I like is that the battery for the GreenWorks 2101602 40V 12″ Cordless String Trimmer, Includes 2Ah Battery and Charger will work on their other products, like their lawn mower, pole saw or chain saw. I recommend the GreenWorks 2101602 40V 12″ Cordless String Trimmer, Includes 2Ah Battery and Charger.

Yea! No more cords!!!I love this! I have used the corded ones and the cords always get in the way. I can’t use the gas powered ones because I can never get them started and they are heavy. This one is almost as heavy as a gas but I don’t have any issues starting it up. It was easy to put together and is longer that any trimmers I’ve had in the past which is a good thing but will take a minute or so to get the hang of. Getting the line to feed out is a bit tricky at first but easy enough to do. Takes only about an hour for the charger to chard and it is very easy to install into the trimmer just make sure you click it in place. I almost keep forgetting about the safety button that you have to use to run the trimmer.

I have a small area that I have to use it in so I can’t say how long the battery will run but at least I can do that small area without having to wait on someone to do it for me.

I personally like this trimmer and the fact that when I get other Greenworks Premium Lawn tools products and the batteries are interchangeable.

GreenWorks is my new favorite yard tool!I just got my GreenWorks string trimmer last week and I love it already!
It was very easy to put together taking about 15 minutes
with easy to understand instructions. Once together it is a
nice design and lightweight. The battery is very easy to put in and

I received this in January just 2 days after we got a foot of snow so
I was unable to try it today. While there isn’t too many weeds right now
it did a great job on the few we found. I love the battery! I have had both
electric and gas trimmers and this is truly less fuss. No gas/oil to mix and
no cord to mess with. It seems to have the same power as them without that hassle.
Not having to deal with cords allow you to use it in far off corners of the yard and you wont ever
have to worry about not having gas/oil.

As for power…It seems to have plenty of power to do the job. I played with it for
a good 20 minutes and the battery was still going strong just on the charge it had when
delivered. I honestly can’t wait till spring to really give it a good workout!

The GreenWorks tools are well built and have a great warranty with 4 years on the tool
and 2 years on the batteries.
I love when a company backs up their product with a good warranty!
So you know you will have these tools for years.
I LOVE that you can buy other tools and use the same battery. This is a great savings plus
you don’t need a bunch of different chargers. I know I am already planning to buy the cultivator
    for this years spring garden!

One last thing I like is the color, Ever notice most yard tools are black?
This bright green really stands out. When you look in your tool shed it will
    be very easy to find.
