Trimmer keeps my yard looking tidyThis trimmer was the perfect choice for me. I have a large yard with several flower beds, trees, and buildings. Being a petite female, a gas powered/heavier model would’ve been impractical. This trimmer made quick work of the tall grass and weeds and had plenty of power. I used it in low mode and it did run through the battery quicker than my other tools, so I would recommend having a backup ready if you’re planning on using it for extended periods. I was careful around rocks and sidewalks, so the string lasted a long time and showed little wear. It’s easy to assemble and run, I had no issues. I’m happy with my purchase.

Powers through tuff weedsI decided on the Model # DCST925B because of the reviews which turned out to be spot on! I have a specific purpose for the string trimmer and that is the weeds spreading in and around our privacy tree line. We have our roadway, three feet of grass, three feet of mulch bed with the trees in the center and then woods. The wind carries seeds from the overgrowth and propagates weeds which are too numerous to pick by hand. I did a three-hundred-foot tree line of sixty arborvitaes in under an hour with a 3 ah. Battery. The large growth took some time and patience but the trimmer wacked right through all the stuff. I will only need to use it about twice a month till the fall. I would suggest taking the time to clean the bottom thoroughly, including removing the line spool and inspecting the line. Important note make sure the line does not extend past the cutter blade, it will make a racket! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Works Great! Powerful and Easy to UseI bought this a week ago and so far I’m very happy with it. It’s more powerful than I thought. It cuts right through the high grass. For the price, it works great and I love cutting the grass now!

Great trimmer!I bought this today and just finished trimming. I am so sick of 2 cycle equipment, I spend as much time getting them to run as I do using them. Like all my other DeWalt 20v tools this did not disappoint. I rarely used the high power setting even though I was weeks past due on trimming. After investing in some 5ah batteries a while back I have bought several tools and would recommend them all.

Less than expected from DewalyAssembly of guard (item 8) to motor housing (item 4) in Figure G was impossible using screws supplied. Small Phillips type head of those screw incapable of needed torque due to cam-out. I substituted Robinson head screws which worked perfectly.
Assemble book, and particularly the Figures, too small and of too low a resolution, for senior citizen eyes.
Cord cuts fine grasses but does not seem capable of cutting native (thicker) grass.

Could be betterPlenty of speed and power. Balance is not the best and it throws grass everywhere. As Dewalt is owned by Stanley Black and Decker, I find it disappointing that they have yet to have a unit that rotates to edge sidewalks like the B&D string trimmers. And no quick change spools!

Mixed feedbackPurchased this due to my volume of DeWalt products. Works adequate for trimming, however the guard mechanism is of Very poor design compared to other products. Flying debris is much worse than others – DeWalt Engineers need to review this. Because of its lack of QC/safety consideration I cannot recommend.

It QUITThis product is awful. I’ve only had it a year and it’s DOA. That’s right it quit. No it’s not the battery. I have a few batteries because I have dewalt tools. This thing is great when it was working but only a year. SOOOOO disappointed

Complete junkOnly gave one star because I couldn’t give zero.
This was the second one to go bad within 30 days. My 11 year old son was using it on average of 30 minutes a week.
DO NOT BUY THIS COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY
Returned to store. Will not purchase another
