Great machine for a great price!I was looking for a computerized sewing machine to replace my older Singer Simple. Since I am relatively new to sewing and still have a lot to learn about this skill, I did not want to spend a lot of money on a sewing machine. When I saw the Brother CP100X 100-Stitch, I thought it seemed like a good machine for a good price, so I decided to purchase it.

I received my machine this week and spent some time experimenting with it. I am very impressed with this machine. It was packed very neatly in the box, and it was easy to remove from the packaging. I was a little concerned at first because this machine is light in weight compared to my old machine, but that does not seem to have any bearing on its performance. I experimented with everything from changing the presser feet to sewing the different stitches to threading and placing the bobbin, as well as a few other features this machine offers. Each function of this machine worked exactly as it should and I had no trouble figuring out what I needed to do and when/how to do it.

Additionally, the instruction manual is very clear and easy to follow, as well as is the picture guide instructions, which also came with the machine. I find this incredibly helpful, especially since I do not have a lot of experience working with sewing machines, as this is only the second machine I’ve owned, and the first computerized machine I’ve experienced. My only word of advice would is to be sure and read through the manual carefully. The manual thoroughly explains the features of this machine, how to use them, and troubleshooting issues, should they happen; however, reading the manual is necessary so that one understands how the machine is best operated.

I would absolutely recommend this machine for anyone who sews or wants to learn to sew. It is a great machine for a great price, and I am happy with my purchase.

Great basic sewing machineThis is a great basic sewing machine, ideal for beginners. I bought it as an additional machine to my Brother sewing/embroidery machine and it’s doing exactly what I wanted it to do – piecing quilts and basic quilting. Setting up was very easy and the instructions were clear.

Awesome… machine!!!Disagree with members who has skipped stitches, and issues using the 100 plus stitches. BUY ORGAN needles. A few needles were included in package. This machine is wonderful…and walking foot included. You all are wrong with your negative comments. DID YOU READ THE DIRECTIONS?

Not fond of sewingI never was fond of sewing but my new CP100X has changed that. . She is quiet and I do not need to use a foot pedal – how wonderful is that! I have woven so many projects that I wanted to finish but my old machine kept jamming so nothing has been finished. Two weeks after buying my JOY (cp100x) I now have many of those handmade woven projects done. I was able to sew long woven bands together and make bags within an hour using the zigzag stitch by pushing 1 button! I can’t find the stitches on the bag -so fine -so precise. I love my newly named cp100x – a JOY to use.

What a great sewing machine![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recieved this Brother CP100x Sewing Machine for an honest review. So far, this has been the best sewing machine I’ve ever owned. It has 100 stitches built in and 8 one step button holes. It’s a high quality sewing machine with a large table. The quick set bobbin is easy to use and one step automatic needle is perfect. With 100 built in unique stitches, you can’t go wrong! You’ll find something to meet your needs. This high quality machine this is great to use for projects. Also, the hard case is perfect for protection when placing in storage and using it at the next time. I highly recommend this to anyone!

Tiny but MightyI bought this machine because it came with the walking foot. My previous Brother stopped working, but when I started sewing it powered through multiple layers of fabric and terry. I love it but I miss the automatic thread cutter and the lighted stitches panel.

Fantastic machine![This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was beginning to think I would never get the hang of sewing, but it turns out I was using an inferior machine! Since receiving this Brother CPX100X my projects have been coming out so much better. My husband is actually much better at sewing than I am and I usually leave big projects to him, but I really think I am ready to tackle a quilt with this machine! It’s been my goal for years to get comfortable enough to make a quilt, and with the larger work space, and 10 different feet, and 100 stitches, I really think this is the perfect machine to help me reach that goal.

As I said, my husband is much more experienced than I am sewing, and he absolutely loves it. He is able to whip out masks in no time, with half the frustration of our old sewing machine. I have even been able to make a couple with no issues! The needle threader is literally one step and works every time. Neither of us have noticed any tension issues, and the stitches look beautiful every time. I have had so much fun playing with all of the different stitches and it has been great practice. I had no idea there were so many different feet like buttonhole, zipper, monogramming, overcasting, blind hole, etc. I have so much to learn and am actually excited about it now instead of overwhelmed and frustrated with my old sewing machine. I love that it comes with a protective case as well. I really feel like the sky is the limit now that I have something reliable to create with!

I have had my machine since August just turned on the back sticht now I cannot turn it off and it will randomly back sticht as I am sewing not just at the beginning and end also getting F2 error and the book says it malfunctioning.

A MistakeI needed to replace my broken LX3817A because I didn’t think it was worth fixing an entry level machine. But this machine can’t even hem jeans without skipping stitches. New machine, fresh needle, but still it looks awful. I was really excited about getting a better machine which just makes how awful this one works more disappointing. I wish I had gone with something else but I guess I have to make it work now.

Perhaps I should have paid attention to the only reviews being part of a promotion.

DisappointedNeeded to replace my 30 year old machine and decided on the CP100x. Received it yesterday and have spend over five hours trying to get a simple straight stick. Read and reread the manual and watch views with no luck. Did everything thing the manual suggested. Returning tomorrow.
